Writers' Hub Fall 2026 Workshops
Each semester, the 榴莲视频 MFA Program develops a series of creative writing workshops that are open to local community members and program alumni as well as to current MFA students. These events are designed to dig deeply into a specific element of the craft of writing and to help participants hone their skills. All events take place at Barat House, home of the Dowd-O'Gorman Creative Writing Center, tucked away on 榴莲视频鈥檚 vibrant campus. Please see this semester鈥檚 offerings below. Upcoming Workshops
When we think of revision what is the first thing that comes to mind? Some may see an image of a red pen, others a sponge, still others, a feather. Some may feel it. Is it a lightness or a gut punch?
In this session, we will hold time and space for reading, reflecting and, yes, revising. And we will write a bit, too. We鈥檒l consider why this part of the creative process 鈥渃ontains multitudes鈥� and ignites mixed emotions, but ultimately is an act of care and service, not only to our pages but to our whole selves.
Who knows? We might even leave our workshop with a little more appreciation of Susan Sontag鈥檚 words: 鈥淎nd though the rewriting 鈥� and the rereading 鈥� sound like effort, they are actually the most pleasurable parts of writing.鈥�
